She took home a Tony Award for Best Leading Actress in a Musical, a Drama Desk Award and a Theatre World Award for her performance. Holliday also received a Grammy Award for her show-stopping rendition of “And I am Telling You I’m Not Going” is considered one of the all-time best in a Broadway musical.
